Sophie Wilde Doesn’t Play It Safe in Dior Haute Couture
Sophie Wilde joined her castmates on a busy red carpet for the Digger Royal Film Performance and global premiere inside Leicester Square Gardens on Tuesday.
The Dior ambassador wore an off-the-shoulder dress from the Fall 2026 Haute Couture collection, and this may come as a surprise to many, but I don’t hate it.
It’s not an easy dress to pull off, or even consider. But the first thing to understand is that it isn’t meant to look neat. The crinkled texture isn’t the result of being crushed in a car on the way to the premiere; it is part of the design, giving the fabric its shape and character.
Where I think Sophie sells it is in the simplicity of the styling. There was no attempt to tame the volume or make the dress feel more conventional. And while I suspect this will be a hard sell for some (most), I find myself appreciating the look more on Sophie than I expected to.
Sophie has enough presence to wear the dress without disappearing beneath it. It’s unconventional, but that is precisely what makes me interested in it.
