Lili Reinhart Ends Her Nostalgic Press Tour With a Disney Throwback

Lili Reinhart attended a special screening of her Prime Video film The Love Hypothesis in Los Angeles last night, bringing her nostalgia-fuelled press tour to a fitting close.

Lilac and lavender hues have dominated this tour, but on this occasion Lili switched to pink in a custom Miu Miu velvet mini dress. And if it immediately transported you back to the late ’90s, that was entirely the point.

The look pays homage to the pink dress worn by Elisabeth Harnois as Hallie Richmond in the 1998 Disney Channel movie My Date with the President’s Daughter. From the bubblegum-pink colour and white piping to the spaghetti straps and mini length, the reference is instantly recognisable.

It’s a fitting way to close a press tour that has treated the rom-coms and teen movies of the ’90s and 2000s as its own fashion archive.

Lili and her stylist Ib Abdel Nasser have revisited the leading ladies many of us grew up watching, from Andie Anderson in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days to the Miss Congeniality makeover dress. Ending with Hallie Richmond takes us straight back to an era of Disney Channel movies, butterfly clips, lip gloss and unapologetically bright pink dresses.
