Anne Hathaway’s Love of Colour and Ruffles Continues for ‘Verity’

Anne Hathaway has kicked off her fifth and final press tour of the year for her forthcoming film, Verity, following Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey and The End of Oak Street. Despite moving from one project to the next throughout 2026, her wardrobe has managed to give each tour its own identity.

Bold colour has been one of the cornerstones of that run. The Devil Wears Prada 2 gave us plenty of red, while blue dominated The Odyssey. For Verity, Anne has returned to a colour that has served her particularly well, wearing a Carolina Herrera Spring 2027 chilli-red peplum top with a matching tea-length skirt.

But colour is only half the story here, because Anne clearly has a thing for ruffles too.

Wes Gordon’s Carolina Herrera speaks directly to both sides of her current style. The curling ruffles around the peplum immediately recalled the J’amemme dress she wore while promoting The Princess Diaries 3 at D23. Then there was the ruffled Chloé dress for The Odyssey in London and the LEIN look for her guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel.

So while red has been a recurring theme throughout Anne’s year, ruffles have been quietly building a case of their own. This Carolina Herrera look brings the two together, which is perhaps why it feels so naturally suited to her.

This exact look didn’t appear on the runway, but the connection to the collection is clear, with the same curled ruffle detailing appearing on looks 24, 30 and 43.

The Aquazzura embellished sandals were also a good choice. Five press tours in, Anne’s love of colour and ruffles is looking less like a coincidence and more like the thread of her 2026 wardrobe.
