Margaret Qualley’s Chanel Shoes Steal Focus at ‘The Dog Stars’ Premiere
Margaret Qualley attended The Dog Stars world premiere, held at the Odeon Luxe Leicester Square in London on Thursday.

The actress looked as beautiful as ever wearing a Chanel Resort 2027 dress covered in cascading black paillettes. I love how the embellishments fall, skimming the body, giving the dress such an elegant flow. From the ankles up, this is easily one of Margaret’s best Chanel looks.
Unfortunately, we need to talk about the shoes.

Margaret also wore the Chanel Resort 2027 soleless sandals that went viral when the collection was presented back in April, and their first major celebrity outing always felt inevitable.
You know me, I can justify just about anything, but wearing “shoes” where your bare feet are touching the ground? Nah.

I was going to say that it rained in London yesterday, which makes this even more perplexing, but would they be any less ridiculous during a heatwave, when the pavement is hot? The only place these shoes make a minuscule amount of sense is on a beach, with sand between your toes.

And I have questions. Did she put them on seconds before walking the carpet? Was a pair of actual shoes waiting for her inside? Why couldn’t they have been made with a thin sole and a PVC toe loop? And perhaps the most important question: who looked at London pavement and thought, yes, bare feet?
The frustrating thing is that I really love this dress on Margaret. The Chanel look itself is one of her best, and the shoes don’t change that. But when your bare toes are touching a London pavement at a world premiere, they are inevitably going to become the story.
