TV Academy’s 2026 Televerse Festival
With the Emmys approaching, the Television Academy’s Televerse 26 brought together casts from some of television’s biggest shows for FYC presentations, screenings and retrospectives.
Love Story: John F. Kennedy Jr. & Carolyn Bessette
Sarah Pidgeon, who has an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Carolyn Bessette Kennedy, wore a black Balenciaga Spring 2026 mini dress, and while the black works, I’m sure you are wondering why she didn’t wear the purple runway version.
Mostly because we see Sarah in black so often. But the cape-style sleeves give this more interest than your standard LBD, and we have seen the purple version on Amal Clooney.
Paul Anthony Kelly joined his Love Story co-star looking as handsome as ever in a Loro Piana suit.
From the relaxed silhouette to the fine knit, this is the perfect way to wear a suit without it feeling too formal.
Shameless
Emmy Rossum reunited with William H. Macy and executive producer John Wells for a Shameless retrospective marking 15 years since the series premiered.
I know what you’re thinking. Not another black dress.
But Emmy’s Hermès Spring 2026 leather mini has an intriguing detail at the back, where crossed straps frame an open-back design. From the front, it’s an incredibly simple leather mini, so that unexpected rear view is where the look earns its keep.

Shrinking
I have said countless times that I don’t really get Jessica Williams’ style, and this Wiederhoeft Spring 2025 dress is yet to change my mind.
I didn’t love it when Tinashe wore it to the Billboard Women in Music event, and I’m no more convinced now. Between the glossy brown finish, white lace, gathered skirt and bows at the hips, there are simply too many ideas competing for me. Even taken individually, I’m struggling to find an element I would keep.
The Diplomat
As you know, I am not the biggest fan of grey, but the sequins on Allison Janney’s Michael Kors Collection double-breasted pinstripe suit add so much character to the classic tailoring.
Le Silla pumps completed her look.
The Pitt
Katherine LaNasa gave us one of my favourite looks of the festival in a La DoubleJ floral-jacquard suit, with the purple floral pattern taking centre stage. There’s personality here, and after seeing so much black, I welcomed every bit of it.
Sepideh Moafi opted for Leo Lin, with the blue-and-white stripes taking this in a preppy direction. But the gold pumps lose me.
Abbott Elementary
Janelle James let her T-shirt do the talking.
Her Mickalene Thomas Trois Femmes Noires cropped T-shirt features a reproduction of the artist’s Le Déjeuner sur l’herbe: Les trois femmes noires, which Janelle paired with wide-leg black trousers and brown pumps.
I love this. Not every appearance needs a designer moment, and the artwork gives an otherwise simple T-shirt-and-trousers combination its entire identity.
Quinta Brunson went in a completely different direction in Ronny Kobo.
There is a lot happening between the asymmetric plaid, ruffles and thigh-high slit, but Quinta carries the silhouette well, and the metallic sandals make sense with the warm tones of the dress.
Beef
Oscar Isaac and Charles Melton represented Beef, with Oscar among this year’s Emmy nominees for Lead Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie.
Oscar Isaac wore Ferragamo, and this is exactly the sort of relaxed tailoring I expect him to sell.
The dark striped shirt and matching trousers have the ease of pyjamas, but the leather belt gives the silhouette enough definition. I also appreciate that he resisted adding a jacket. The simplicity is the appeal.
Charles Melton opted for Louis Vuitton. It’s the most casual of the menswear here, but I love the laidback, youthful feel.
