Lily James Explores the Beauty of Texture at ‘The Liberation’ Premiere
Lily James returned to the red carpet on Saturday evening for the premiere of her upcoming film The Liberation at the 2026 BFI London Film Festival.

The British actress wore a white pressed-velvet sheath gown by Prada that made a beautiful case for understated glamour, with the draped scarf sleeves giving the look its sense of occasion.
What I particularly love is how the pressed velvet creates an almost crinkled texture, giving the fabric an architectural quality reminiscent of a plaster wall. I love how this contrasts with the softness of the scarf sleeves, and I think that’s what makes the dress so interesting.

However, I don’t think the bow or the long trailing ribbons were necessary. The scarf sleeves already provided enough drama, and removing those extra details would have made the overall look even more appealing.
Barron London jewels completed her look.
