Alia Bhatt Wore Danielle Frankel To ‘La Vie D’Une Femme’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere
Alia Bhatt was back on the red carpet for the Cannes Film Festival premiere of La Vie D’Une Femme in her role as a L’Oréal ambassador.

Sartorially, it has been a shaky 24 hours for the Indian actress. Her Tamara Ralph Couture gown had its issues, but this Danielle Frankel gown has to be one of the most unflattering looks I’ve seen on the Cannes red carpet in quite some time.
I love a ball gown at Cannes, but this one feels visually heavy on Alia despite the lightness of the fabric. I attribute that largely to the point where the voluminous skirt meets the bodice. The lack of waist definition pulls the eye downward and leaves the silhouette feeling awkwardly proportioned.
The design itself feels surprisingly juvenile, and the styling does nothing to elevate it. The choker detail only adds to the overly precious feeling of it all.
L’Oréal ambassadors usually get two major nights on the Cannes red carpet, so I’m hoping Alia gets one more opportunity to turn things around. What a disappointing follow-up to last year’s stunning appearance.
Stylist: Rhea Kapoor.
