Hannah Einbinder Wore Celine To The ‘Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Hannah Einbinder attended the La Vie D’Une Femme premiere during the Cannes Film Festival this evening following the photocall earlier this afternoon.

Earlier in the day, I was hopeful that the actress would bring her A-game for the evening premiere. This is Cannes, after all.

But that optimism disappeared the second I saw her on the red carpet in this custom Celine look.

The overall idea immediately brought Raf Simons’ Jil Sander Spring 2011 collection to mind. While a similar silhouette didn’t land on Simone Ashley, this was a custom design, so naturally you would expect the fit and proportions to feel far more polished. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case.

The proportions feel completely misjudged here. The skirt sits unnaturally high, which I suspect is because the hem is too long. The fitted high-neck top also reads far too casual for a Cannes premiere, especially for one of the film’s lead actresses.

Celine is usually well versed in delivering strong Cannes red carpet moments, which makes this feel even more surprising.

She should have worn this to the photocall. I would have preferred the Alaïa for this premiere.
