Teyana Taylor Wore Schiaparelli To The TIME 2026 Women of the Year Gala

If this awards season has proven anything, it’s that Teyana Taylor knows exactly who she is on the red carpet, and she knows exactly which fashion house speaks her language. Time and again, Taylor has gravitated toward the surreal glamour and sculptural drama of Schiaparelli, and at the TIME Women of the Year Gala she once again reaffirmed that this designer-celebrity pairing is one of the most compelling in fashion right now.

For the evening, Taylor stepped out in a look presented just four days ago as part of Schiaparelli’s Fall 2026 The Sphynx collection, a piece that perfectly embodies the house’s signature mix of sensuality, artistry, and theatrical craftsmanship.

The look begins with a striking high-neck bustier creating a sculpted silhouette. As the eye moves downward, the corseted structure transitions into intricate embellished bag. Random, but so Schiaparelli. There is no need for a clutch with this look.

Below the waist, the drama continues to unfold with a black velvet skirt intricately embroidered with ostrich feathers, micro sequins, and delicate beadwork that give the fabric a quiet sparkle under the lights, while a sheer stripe of tulle running across the hips introduces a flash of transparency that feels typically daring.

It’s a look that demands presence and Taylor delivers exactly that.

Throughout this awards season she has consistently embraced fashion that pushes beyond the expected, leaning into bold silhouettes, couture craftsmanship, and designers who are not afraid of drama. Do Long at the BAFTA Tea Party, Tom Ford at the Grammys, Ashi Studio Couture at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and Thom Browne at the Actor Awards, to name a few. Schiaparelli, with its roots in surrealism and its modern revival of theatrical couture, fits seamlessly into that trajectory.

Taylor has long shown an appreciation for the house’s avant garde sensibility, and each appearance feels like a continuation of that relationship. Her confidence and stage presence bring an extra charge to the design, elevating it beyond the garment itself.

This was yet another moment that felt unmistakably Teyana.
