Tracee Ellis Ross Wore Mugler To The 2026 Costume Designers Guild Awards
Tracee Ellis Ross attended the 2026 Costume Designers Guild Awards last night.

This Mugler Spring 2026 look is sculpted, with sharp shoulders and a nipped waist delivering that classic Mugler precision. However, the jacket feels too big on her; the looseness through the waist and hip disrupts what should be a clean, controlled silhouette.
I am glad she kept the brooch detail, which adds a focal point, and the black pumps were the safest possible finish. But I cannot get past how strongly this reads mother of the bride.
I suspect that reaction comes down to the peach tone. As pretty as it is, it sits close to her skin tone, which makes the overall effect feel a bit one note. I am actually relieved the pumps were not tonal, as that would have pushed it further in that direction, slightly muting the overall impact and draining some of the drama the silhouette promises.
Overall, it is refined, but the strength of the tailoring is undermined by the fit, leaving the look less impactful than it could have been.
