Maura Higgins Wore Jean Paul Gaultier & LaQuan Smith Promoting ‘The Traitors USA’
Maura Higgins has been quietly taking New York by storm this week. The British Love Island alum turned host for the US version is currently a cast member on The Traitors US Season 4, which is drawing serious attention stateside. Her fashion choices are doing just as much talking.
It has been a relatively subdued week while we wait for the next major awards moment at the Grammys next Sunday. Sundance may deliver something interesting in the meantime, but for now, Maura’s street style en route to press appearances are providing my fashion fix.
Parisian Noir, Straight Out Of New York
I am completely in awe of her Jean Paul Gaultier Window trench coat. The extra long silhouette is anchored by a statement high low hem, which gives the classic trench shape a sharp, directional edge. It is tantalising, unapologetic and exactly what you expect from Gaultier at the label’s most seductive.
But it is the styling that locks it in. The veil topped pillarbox hat immediately shifts the mood into something cinematic, calling to mind a noir heroine stepping out between scenes. Add the leather gloves, sheer tights, patent leather pumps and Hermès Birkin bag, and suddenly this feels less like a street style moment and more like a frame pulled from a Paris set film, somewhere between Belle de Jour and late 90s fashion editorials.
High Shine, High Impact, No Hesitation
Her second look could not be more different. The LaQuan Smith Fall 2025 patent leather jacket and matching maxi skirt with a thigh high slit leans hard into dominatrix territory. This is not an easy look and it would overwhelm most people, but Maura wears it with confidence. The high shine finish and exposed leg create a commanding presence.
It is assertive and states its presence clearly, where the Gaultier look teased.
