Amanda Seyfried Wore Valentino On The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Amanda Seyfried made a guest appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert last night, where she spoke about Ann Lee, the influential spiritual leader at the centre of her new film, The Testament of Ann Lee.

Fresh from her Atelier Versace appearance at the Golden Globes, which I am genuinely hoping marks a return to form, the actress kept that momentum going in Valentino. And this, for me, is where her style started to feel fun again.

She wore a black velvet mini dress finished with feathers, ribbons, and crystals. This direction has been absent for far too long, sidelined by a stretch of historical silhouettes that often felt more dutiful than true to her style. Seeing her step back into something flirty and relaxed feels like a reminder of how well she wears this kind of look

Some might call this a typical late night LBD, but I’m reading it as a conscious shift. The embellishment gives it personality, the length gives it confidence, and the overall mood feels easy rather than studied. This is red carpet dressing for fun, not by formula.

Simple black Jimmy Choo Anouk pumps completed the look, keeping the focus exactly where it belonged.

Stylist: Elizabeth Stewart.
