I know many of you miss Ayo Edebiri in labels like Loewe, but considering how much I did not connect with her Loewe suit at this same event last year, I am more than happy with this change of direction. This Chanel Pre Fall 2026 off the shoulder black velvet dress, finished with resin and pearl brooches at the shoulder, delivered the kind of glamour I want from her at an awards ceremony.
Chanel is looking very good on Ayo right now, and this felt like a confident step forward. Tiffany and Co. jewels completed her look.

Movie Star Glamour
Selena Gomez leaned straight into Old Hollywood movie star territory wearing a custom black velvet bustier Chanel dress.
The white floral details made from feathers, silk chiffon, and silk organza brought visual drama without overpowering the silhouette. This was classic red carpet dressing with enough flair to keep it exciting.

Change Of Script
I was fully prepared for an all black awards season run from Rose Byrne, so this custom emerald green draped silk Chanel gown stopped me in my tracks. The tie detail set up the look, but it needed a sharp finish, which came through with the glass pearls and crystal embroidery framing the neckline.
Chanel High Jewelry completed her look, as it continues to be a strong year for Rose on the red carpet.
