Celebrities at the ‘I Love LA’ LA Premiere

The Los Angeles premiere of HBO Original’s I Love LA took place last night with a red carpet that perfectly matched the show’s energy — chaotic, glamorous, and a little bit unexpected.

Lace, But Make It Tricky

I was really on board with Rachel Sennott’s retro era when she was wearing Galliano and Westwood — two labels that align with her subversive femininity. This sheer black lace embellished Ludovic de Saint Sernin Spring 2026 dress, however, didn’t land the same way. The issue isn’t the sheerness or the boldness — Rachel can handle bold — it’s that this particular piece feels mismatched to her personality. She’s witty, mischievous, and expressive, but this look reads more supermodel glam than indie cool. I can see this on someone like Alessandra Ambrosio or Emily Ratajkowski, who thrive in this sultry, body-first aesthetic.

Old Hollywood In Sequins

Leighton Meester, on the other hand, wore a Carolina Herrera strapless dress that was alluring thanks to the plunging neckline, while the clean midi length kept it elegant. I love how she paired the look with old-Hollywood curls, soft peachy makeup, and classic pointed black pumps. There’s nothing forced or trend-chasing here, just a solid, well-considered red carpet look.

Y2K Nostalgia Rebooted

Charli XCX took a totally different approach in her With Jéan Magnol mini dress, styled with thigh-high leather boots. The look had that early-2000s mall energy — think Charlotte Russe meets club girl chic — but with Charli’s typical edge. The charcoal-grey was cute, but too understated for a premiere. I love that she didn’t default to something over-styled, yet I found myself wishing for a bit more, especially from her.

Overall, this was one of those premieres where each celebrity reflected a totally different facet of LA style — sultry, classic, and offbeat — which feels perfectly on brand for a series called I Love LA.
