Celebrities at the InStyle Imagemaker Awards 2025

The InStyle Imagemaker Awards celebrates the creative professionals behind the star-looks — not just the celebrities, but the hairstylists, makeup artists, stylists, colourists, and other image-makers who help shape how stars are seen. But as always, it was the celebrities who grabbed the spotlight on the red carpet. Here is a look at the other notable attendees who joined Jenna Ortega.

Bombshell energy, no notes

Love Island winner Olandria Carthen wore a vintage Roberto Cavalli dress that delivered pure, unapologetic sensuality — a liquid-black slip with lace panels that hugged her body perfectly.

The look, in its entirety, captured early-2000s bombshell glamour, complemented by Dior jewels.

Better than the look book

I can already hear the critiques about Kerry Washington’s David Koma Resort 2026 white dress. Maybe the peplum feels disconnected, or the slit a touch too high — but let’s be thankful she didn’t wear the version from the look book with the sheer tulle bodice.

Ballet-core, but grounded

We love a Scandal reunion. Katie Lowes joined her former co-star Kerry Washington wearing an LPA Estella dress that oozed ballet-inspired romance. The black velvet bodice and her styling stopped it from tipping into twee territory — delicate but not too sugary.

Matchy

Laura Dern, who picked up the Woman of Impact award, wore an Emilia Wickstead Sehima one-shoulder draped crepe midi dress from the Fall 2025 collection. I adore the colour and draped detail, but I wish it the sleeve (or more directly the cuff) was a bit shorter — it would’ve balanced the proportions better. Still, this was a strong moment for Laura, especially paired with matching red pumps.

Boho, but make it hot

I’m a big fan of Rat & Boa dresses as they remind me of summer holidays and do all the work for you. You just slip them on and go. Zazie Beetz’s slinky, floral-printed slip is case in point. It oozes bohemian sensuality while still making an impact.

This is not her look

Ask me to define Elizabeth Olsen’s style, and I couldn’t. But I can tell you this Khaite look doesn’t feel like her. I’d expect this from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Julianne Moore, Olivia Culpo, or Katie Holmes, but it doesn’t ring authentic to Elizabeth. She’s not selling it to me at all.

A Tale of Two halves

For Jessica Biel, it was a tale of two halves — a stunning draped cape top paired with trousers that were far too long and bunched awkwardly. The Tyler Ellis clutch worked beautifully, but those brown pumps? A total mismatch.

Custom… really?

Brittany Snow wore a custom Lein column dress — though it’s almost hard to believe considering the fit and the length.

Thankfully, the draped white jade beads down the back offered some redemption and visual interest.

Gothic glamour overload

Jackie Tohn wore a instantly recognisable Wiederhoeft Spring 2024 look featuring a plum corset and black glittering skirt that captured the label’s signature theatrical sensuality. For some the opera gloves will intensify the drama, but for me, they tipped it into overkill.

Host mode: activated

I know what you’re thinking — Lisa Rinna is doing too much again. But as the red carpet host for this fashion event, her Richard Quinn Spring 2020 floral mermaid gown was right on brand. Over-the-top glamour is her M.O. anyway. I was going to say that Kris Jenner will take inspiration from this, but her daughter Kendall Jenner already wore this dress to the 2019 Emmys. Maura Higgins also wore it to the 2024 National Television Awards. So, third time’s the charm — but this is the first time without the latex.

Tame, but still Heidi

This Balmain black knit dress was relatively restrained for Heidi Klum. We know she usually goes full-glam for every red carpet, but even with that oversized gold clutch, this felt muted — not that I’m complaining.

Lose the shrug

I wish Riley Keough had ditched the black shrug because I love the richness of her eggplant strapless dress. Without the shrug, it would’ve been an easy win — elegant, moody, and right in her wheelhouse.

Classic, with a twist

Supriya Ganesh brought quiet sophistication in a black Zuhair Murad Pre-Fall 2025 dress. The sleek column silhouette was elevated by a sculptural neckline traced with subtle embellishment — just enough to keep things interesting without overcomplicating the look. I much prefer her interpretation, and how she made the look her own.
