Cristin Milioti Wore Magda Butrym To SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations Presents ‘The Penguin’
Cristin Milioti stepped out in Los Angeles on Tuesday for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation Conversations Presents The Penguin, and while the discussion was all about her crime drama television miniseries, my focus was squarely on her wardrobe choice.

We’ve come to know Cristin as a loyal champion of darker palettes—navy, black, deep brown—all perfectly aligned with her brooding, moody on-screen presence. That aesthetic has always felt right for her, especially given the tone of her projects. So when she ventured outside of her comfort zone with a red Magda Butrym off-shoulder mini dress, I was surprised. Sadly, this didn’t feel like the colour breakthrough moment she deserved.
The dress itself, while playful in theory, didn’t flatter Cristin as it should. With her shorter torso, the proportions just didn’t hit the mark, so I’m missing the impact her red carpet choices usually make. Adding black mesh ankle-strap pumps into the mix only distracted further—they simply weren’t the right partner for this dress.
I wish the only critique here was a few creases in the fabric, but instead, this outing felt like a missed opportunity. For someone as stylish as Cristin.
