Brigitte Macron Wears Louis Vuitton Exclusively on Day One of UK State Visit

When Brigitte Macron travels, she brings her signature blend of modern French elegance with her—and the French First Lady’s appearance during France’s 2025 State Visit to the UK was no exception.

Accompanying President Emmanuel Macron on France’s first official state visit to the UK since 2008, Brigitte Macron embraced the diplomatic spotlight in three distinct Louis Vuitton looks on day one. With Buckingham Palace undergoing renovations, the pageantry was relocated to Windsor Castle, where King Charles III and Queen Camilla hosted a formal lunch. The couple then traveled to London for an address at Parliament, before returning to Windsor for the evening’s State Banquet.

Brigitte’s first look was a white Louis Vuitton wrap-front dress featuring three-quarter sleeves and distinctive leather martingale details inspired by classic trunk handles—an elegant nod to the house’s heritage.

Paired with a structured Louis Vuitton Slim Trunk bag and nude leather pumps, the ensemble balanced timeless sophistication with contemporary edge. The wrap silhouette, with its sharp lines and utilitarian accents, gave the look a subtly militaristic feel—modernising a traditionally feminine shape with refined, almost architectural precision.

Her second ensemble echoed the structure of her first. She honoured the solemn wreath-laying at Westminster Abbey and her address at the Houses of Parliament in a nude wool crepe coat and sheath Louis Vuitton dress. Again, the martingale detail appeared—this time giving the coat a touch of modernity while maintaining its ceremonial gravitas. The neutral tone was a lovely diplomatic mirror to the Dior look Catherine wore to lunch earlier in the day.

Les Bleus may be the nickname for the French national football team, but it was also the colour of the night for Brigitte, who wore a custom Louis Vuitton deep blue silk crepe column gown. The rich tone was a powerful yet refined choice, elevated further by a matching cape embellished with hand-embroidered black and silver jewel buttons. I’ve always had a soft spot for cape moments—especially when they’re part of royal diplomacy—and this one delivered with quiet grandeur. The look was finished with Pure V earrings, bracelet, and ring in white gold and diamonds from the Louis Vuitton High Jewelry collection.

With two more days of events still to go, I’m curious to see whether Brigitte will continue her LV-only run. Will she bring Alexandre Vauthier (her other go-to label) into the mix or return the favour to Catherine with a British designer? Either way, she’s proving that diplomatic dressing can be endlessly chic.
