Catherine, Princess of Wales Wore Dior To Welcome President Emmanuel Macron
Catherine, Princess of Wales, may be keeping us waiting courtside at Wimbledon, but she made a surprise sartorial appearance today as she and Prince William welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron during their official state visit to Britain.

And what a new look it was.
This marked the Princess’ first time wearing Dior—and what better occasion to debut a French house than while hosting French royalty of the political kind?
I had a flicker of hope that this was the first custom creation by Jonathan Anderson, Dior’s newly appointed creative director, but instead, it was a beautifully reimagined jacket by Maria Grazia Chiuri—drawing on the original 1947 design by Christian Dior—paired with a beige Dior tulle skirt.
The soft glamour of the look was topped with a hat by British milliner Jess Collett, perfectly blending French and British design in a subtle nod to the occasion’s significance, with heritage jewellery adding further meaning: her earrings once belonged to Diana, Princess of Wales, and the pearl necklace came from the late Queen’s collection.
A look that was understated, considered and elegantly symbolic.
