Isabelle Huppert Wore Balenciaga To ‘La Femme La Plus Riche Du Monde’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall & Premiere
I hate to say it. I hope I don’t sound ridiculous, but Isabelle Huppert totally slayed in not one, but two double denim Balenciaga looks during Cannes Film Festival.

Promoting La Femme La Plus Riche Du Monde, she took the “Canadian tuxedo” and gave it a red carpet rebrand—because when you’re Isabelle Huppert, you can.
Let’s be honest, she just has that untouchable mix of elegance and edge. The kind of presence that makes you believe in fashion risks again. Not even Diane Kruger could’ve sold this to me. Maybe Charlotte Le Bon on a good day.
The photocall look had a slightly grungy feel, but somehow still screamed luxury—and that’s all down to her. It’s not just the clothes, it’s the styling, the attitude, the knowing exactly how to carry a look like this.

Then came the premiere. I tried to be critical. I really did. But wearing a Balenciaga denim jacket backwards with a matching maxi skirt and looking that cool? I am powerless. The silhouette was sharp, the attitude sharper, and it all felt so effortlessly rebellious. Add the shades and the Elsa Jin brooch, and it’s just unfair at this point. It’s like she’s rewriting the rules of Cannes fashion—on her terms—and somehow making denim red carpet-worthy without a hint of irony.

Stylist: Jonathan Huguet.
