Dakota Johnson Wore Gucci To The ‘Splitsville’ Cannes Film Festival Photocall & Premiere

Following her Kering Women in Motion Awards appearance, which felt like another page from her well-worn sheer Gucci playbook, Dakota Johnson clearly decided to shake things up a little for her Splitsville promo tour during Cannes Film Festival today.

This Gucci black dress doesn’t scream for attention, but it doesn’t need to. The simplicity feels deliberate. It’s clean, minimal, and sharp from the front. But true to Gucci form, the party’s at the back. The signature horsebit detail is encrusted in sparkle, giving it a touch of intrigue.

And to top it off, she adorned her hair with a Boucheron Avoine head jewel.

Then came the pink fringe Gucci strapless gown—and this was a moment. Arguably one of her best Gucci looks to date, the soft blush hue and twinkling texture served up an ethereal kind of glamour. And when the fringe moved?

Pure magic. This gown was made for swishing and twirling down the Croisette. Finishing the look: Boucheron’s Laurier pendant earrings, a seamless continuation of her Cannes jewelry story—bold, sparkly, and just the right side of extra.

So yes, her Kering look may have felt like a rerun, but these two show that Dakota’s still got a few Gucci tricks up her sleeve.
