Alba Rohrwacher Wore Prada To ‘The Phoenician Scheme’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere
We’ve been cheering the return of Alba Rohrwacher’s more expressive side at Cannes Film Festival after a long Dior-induced minimalist phase. There’s been more play, more spirit, more of her. But that little renaissance stalled at The Phoenician Scheme premiere on Sunday night.

Prada sent her out in a purple long sleeve dress with a ruffled collar and matching cuffs — and look, I want to be on board. The colour is rich, the idea charming, and those flounces? A touch of personality peeking through. But none of that matters when the dress looks like it was borrowed last minute from someone two sizes bigger.

The fit is simply baffling — especially up top, where the extra fabric is overwhelming her. And this isn’t a “the hem could be shorter” situation; this is a full-on “why did no one tailor this?” moment.
For every memorable Prada outing, we get moments like this — where something potentially great ends up falling flat because of poor execution. And at Cannes, where every detail matters, it’s disappointing
This could have been one of Alba’s highlights. The bones were there. But the end result leaves us frustrated, not fashion-fed.
