Halle Berry Wore Chanel Haute Couture To ‘The Phoenician Scheme’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere
Halle Berry at this Cannes Film Festival has been… confusing. For someone so synonymous with red carpet slayage, this year’s festival has felt like watching a queen show up to her own coronation without the crown. We’ve been waiting for the fashion fireworks — instead, it’s been more like a damp sparkler.

I don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes — whether her team didn’t get the memo or simply didn’t get it together — but I do know that there’s no shortage of options in Cannes. The city is practically bursting at the seams with designer gowns and luxury suits begging to be worn, and let’s be honest, who wouldn’t want to dress Halle Berry?
So far, the only glimmers of style magic have come from her Elie Saab and Jacquemus looks — both for side events. Which begs the question: where’s the main character energy?
Well, hallelujah, because Sunday night finally gave us something to work with. This Chanel Spring 2025 Haute Couture pant suit embroidered with beaded and organza flowers. It was like a breath of fresh Riviera air.

Yes, it’s black-trimmed. But it’s also light, pretty without being precious, and has that grown-up glamour we’ve been gasping for. It’s not trying too hard, but it’s doing enough.
This is the kind of moment Halle should be having all week long. I love this for her. Let’s just hope it’s the beginning of a proper Cannes fashion comeback.
