Irina Shayk Wore Yves Saint Laurent To The ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

If you thought Irina Shayk’s soft launch into subtlety yesterday was a one-off, think again. For the Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning premiere at Cannes Film Festival this evening, she doubled down on her newly adopted quiet era.

Gone (for now?) are the sheer panels, cut-outs, and jaw-dropping drama. In their place: a vintage Yves Saint Laurent Fall 1998 black velvet gown with a bateau neckline and voluminous faille high-low skirt. It’s elegant, it’s demure, it’s… totally unexpected from Irina.

There are two possible theories here. One: the Cannes style police took one look at her suitcase full of sheer dresses and said “non.” Or two: Irina’s making a deliberate pivot – and honestly, it’s kind of refreshing.

The red and black version from the runway is far more theatrical, but Irina’s all-black take feels more aligned with her current mode. Minimalist, but make it couture. Either way, this new chapter feels considered – and I’m into it.
