Hannah Waddingham Wore Pamella Roland To The ‘Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere

Hannah Waddingham has the presence, the voice, and the charisma to shut down an entire red carpet with one pose, which is exactly why I was holding my breath for something major when she arrived at the Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning Cannes Film Festival premiere.

Instead, we got a custom Pamella Roland strapless column gown in pink, complete with a voluminous overskirt. Yes, it’s pretty. Yes, she looks beautiful. But no, it’s not the fashion moment someone with Hannah’s regal energy deserves on this red carpet.

The Palais des Festivals practically begs for drama, and with Hannah’s grand dame flair, she’s the perfect candidate to deliver it. This look, while elegant, felt more suited to an industry gala than the cinematic stage of Cannes.

I wanted something for her personal best list. Something legendary. Instead, we got sweet and safe. Lovely, but forgettable – and that’s not the Waddingham standard I’ve come to expect.

She should have worn that custom Dolce & Gabbana gold gown she wore for the virtual 2022 SAG Awards. Now that would have been a moment.

Stylist: James Yardley.
