Celebrities Love … Loewe’s Draped Patch Label Trousers
I’ll admit it—I wasn’t sold at first. The Loewe draped trousers weren’t for me when they debuted, and that prominent leather label patch? A visual speed bump I couldn’t quite smooth over. But as I always say, nothing softens a fashion sceptic’s heart quite like repetition… and a really good red carpet moment.
We were first introduced to the trousers by Archie Madekwe, and since then it’s been a cascade of chic confirmations. Britt Lower wore them. Sophie Okonedo gave them a run. Jonathan Bailey did too. And then came Ayo Edebiri at the 2025 Golden Globe Awards—the mic drop moment. That’s when we realised: these trousers aren’t just a fleeting trend, they’re a quiet revolution.
Suddenly, the patch became less of a distraction and more of a badge of honour. The drape? An architectural flex. And the versatility? Off the charts. Whether they’re red carpet-ready or oozing cool—à la Juliette Binoche giving us that insouciant French touch—they work. That is, until they don’t.

Enter Tracee Ellis Ross. My queen of risk-taking, my high-fashion north star. We were patient during her all-black minimalist phase because we knew the return of bold, shape-playing Tracee was imminent—and she delivered in Bottega and Loewe, her trusted favourites. But these oversized Loewe denim draped trousers? They completely swallowed her. They’re at least three sizes too big, and with how high they’re sitting, we’re entering Simon Cowell territory.

Now contrast that with Japanese singer Giselle in the exact same Loewe denim trousers. Still oversized, yes, but styled just right. They sit at her natural waist, paired with a form-fitting knit top that brings proportion and polish. It’s giving intentionality, not overwhelm.

Then there’s Sophie Wilde, who took the cropped version and ran with it. Styled with a ‘Van Gogh’ printed sweater, her Loewe look screams laid-back cool. The cropped length changes the whole attitude—suddenly we’re talking about a trouser that doesn’t take itself too seriously. It’s relaxed. It’s breezy. It feels like the weekend, even when it’s paired with something more elevated.
So where do you stand? Are you loving the Loewe draped trousers? Or are you still not sold? Either way, these trousers are not going away quietly—and honestly, I’m no longer mad at it.
