‘Three Thousand Years Of Longing’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

Sabrina Elba Cannes

The first Friday of Cannes Film Festival has traditionally never been the best day fashion-wise, and that was upheld on Friday (May 20) for the premiere of ‘Three Thousand Years Of Longing.’

I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t turn up to the premiere of my husband’s film wearing a dress with a “V marks the spot” outlining my nether regions.

I love the romantic idea behind Sabrina Elba’s white Tony Ward Couture gown, but the gathering around her crotch is a baffling design choice.

This is a shame, because everything else about this is divine.

Tiffany & Co. jewels completed her look.

Idris Elba on the other hand, was looking so fine and so sharp in this navy Gucci suit.

I love that he matched his co-star Tilda Swinton, the not-too-dark shade of blue, the off-centre buttons, and the fit.

This must be custom made. Look at the perfect length of those trousers. They do exist.

Soo Joo Park

Soo Joo Park’s Nensi Dojaka ‘Pearl Heart’ dress is giving me a strong case of been there done that on account of recent outings by Laura Harrier and Michelle Dockery, yet I did love the delicate nature of this for the model, as she usually opts for an edgier vibe.

Chopard jewels completed her look.

Yseult

I know some of you are creeped out by Schiaparelli‘s accessories, but if one person can pull them off it is Yseult.

They gave the singer’s cone-bra accented wool coat the edge it needed, which is what we expect from her.

Poppy Delevingne

Poppy Delevingne is usually a gala gown kinda girl, but on this occasion she amped things up wearing a Dolce & Gabbana Swarovski crystal halter dress styled with Chopard jewels.

I know you’re thinking that this silver embellished Alberta Ferretti bustier gown is pretty standard for Alessandra Ambrosio.

It is. But she looks beautiful here, and I would take this over the Stephané Rolland Haute mess she wore the night before.

Frida Aasen wore a gorgeous Alberta Ferretti Fall 2022 ombré sunburst pleated gown which I love for the colour alone.

 Leonie Hanne

Hmmm.  If this Tony Ward Couture look is Leonie Hanne’s alternative to those tulle, tired (deliberate typo) gowns, I say bring back the tulle gowns.

What happed to her? I used to love her style.

Are swimsuit the new red carpet look? Did Ciara start a trend?

Pomellato jewels completed her look.
