Emma Raducanu Is The Newest Face Of Dior

Emma Raducanu Is The Newest Face Of Dior

Emma Raducanu has been named the newest face for Dior just over a month after winning the women’s singles title at the 2021 US Open.

If you’re anything like me, you are a little surprised at this, considering Emma’s first look after winning the US Open was a Chanel navy dress, and she made her Met Gala debut – less than 48 hours after the win – as a guest of Chanel alongside Chanel ambassadors; Kristen Stewart, Lily Rose-Depp, Whitney Peak, and Pharrell Williams.

The 18-year-old British tennis star will represent the womenswear collections of French luxury fashion house as well as its skincare and makeup categories.

Our first look at Emma in Dior look came during the world premiere of the James Bond film ‘No Time to Die’ last month, where she wore a Grecian style gown from the Resort 2022 collection which was modified slightly from the runway.

Emma is currently being styled by Nicky Yates, who is/has worked with Carey Mulligan, Claire Foy, Naomi Ackie, Eva Green, Felicity Jones, and Phoebe Dynevor.

No of those ladies have official ties with one brand, although there was a period where Felicity was serving up plenty of Dior (her last Dior look was back in 2019.)

As we’ve seen following the Olympics, many athletes – including but not limited to Tom Daley and Dina Asher-Smith – are joining actors and musicians on the red carpet on a more frequent basis, and in some cases – Allyson Felix in Fendi Haute Couture at the Met Gala for example – outshining them.

I know many of you don’t like it when stars get locked into contracts so early, as there’s often a feeling of not getting a chance to see this person try different styles, brands, designers before signing and settling with one, but as we know, fashion moves so fast these days.

I’m convinced that in less than 5 years, you’ll be able to purchase a runway look, and have it delivered to your home within an hour after the collection has been presented.

When it comes to contracts, this is Emma’s second, as she is also the face of Tiffany & Co.

This was announced at a Vogue Fashion Week dinner, where she wore Erdem.

I’m sure many more will follow.
