V&A ‘Christian Dior: Designer Of Dreams’ Opening Dinner Gala
Celebrities turned up for the opening gala dinner for the V&A ‘Christian Dior: Designer Of Dreams’ exhibition on Tuesday (January 29) in London, England.
Gemma Arterton: The English actress celebrated simplicity in a Dior Fall 2019 black and pink tulle dress. Some might have difficulty with the colour of the skirt, but I’m captivated by the clean lines and tailoring.
Eddie Redmayne: The British actor mixed casual and formal elements in a Dior Men by Kim Jones navy mohair wool peak lapel, double-breasted suit with bright white trainers. The ensemble marked a new silhouette for him. He usually gravitates towards slim-fit suits.
Felicity Jones: Eddie’s former costar stuck with her signature black in a Dior Fall 2019 gown with Delfina Delettrez jewels. The mix of hard and soft elements plus the sparkle gave it an arresting finish.
Olga Kurylenko: Her Dior Fall 2019 light pink tulle dress with embroidered flowers and Dior shoes had one dreaming of spring. The neutral colours presented a more refined finish than the expected pastels. The addition of the dove grey was the elevating detail.
Jenna Coleman: The ‘Victoria’ actress adhered to a monochromatic colour palette in a Dior Fall 2019 black tulle dress with black sequins embroidery, a black saddle bag and Dior shoes. The twinkling embellishment and sheer side panels made it interesting.
Kristin Scott Thomas: The ‘Tomb Raider’ actress shimmered in a Dior Fall 2019 khaki tulle dress with Dior shoes. The colour was an interesting departure from pure gold and worked with her chocolate bob.
Noomi Rapace: We can count on the Swedish actress to put her own spin on things. She certainly did with this Dior Men by Kim Jones Summer 2019 white silk transparent organza long trench coat with blue striped white lining and light grey wool twill high waist wide pants. The platform silver boots add a rocking disco vibe, but the lace gloves might have gone too far for some.
Bianca Jagger: The Nicaraguan beauty looked regal in shimmering Dior Fall 2018. The flowing cape was appropriate for the blustery weather and gives the tulle gown new life. A Dior Lady Art bag by Isabelle Cornaro and long gloves completed the grand dame style.
Eva Herzigova: She mixed prints and neutrals in Dior Fall 2019 with a Dior Cruise 2019 black leather belt, J’adior black leather bag and Dior black suede boots. The low round neck and subdued colours prevented it from becoming overwhelming. If I were to nitpick, the belt was a tad thick.
