Michael Kors @ The 2021 Met Gala

On a night celebrating American fashion, Michael Kors had a strong presence on the red carpet for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Benefit and opening of ‘In America: A Lexicon of Fashion’ on Monday (September 13) in New York City.

Kate Hudson’s pink Michael Kors Collection two-piece gown look was created using recycled sequins.

The look, which was styled with a matching silk organza feather coat, to me is the most Kate Hudson look you’ll ever see.

Lorraine Schwartz pink diamonds and Giuseppe Zanotti silver platform ‘Betty’ sandals completed her look.

My first thought when I saw this was Gwyneth Paltrow’s Ralph Lauren 1999 Oscar look.

Regina King wore what I thought was a Michael Kors Collection denim look, but the fabric is actually sable crepe. But that did nothing to dampen my enthusiasm for this look.

Am I the only one who is enamoured by the gold sequin lining as much as the gold pinstripe embroidery?

This felt like such a boss lady look.  The coat adds to the regality of it all.

She styled her look with gold sandals and Harry Winston jewels.

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello were one of the many celebrity couples to hit this red carpet.

Shawn rocked a Michael Kors Fall 2021 leather blazer with black crushed velvet slim leg trouser from the Fall 2004 collection archive to serve up an American rockstar look.

Much like Zoey Deutch, I was also getting a Cher vibe from Camila Cabello’s Michael Kors Collection look.

Am I the only one who is more enthused by the bottom half of this dress?  

The top half feels like a sequinned sports bra.

Jimmy Choo ‘Max’ platforms and David Webb jewels completed her look.

Adut Akech rocked a Michael Kors Collection Spring 2022 suit.  I came for the encrusted diamond crystals on her sleek white suit and stayed for the mullet.

There may be a few of you who feel this gold embellished gown is something of a staple for Michael Kors, but she was here representing the best of his work.

Italian model Vittoria Ceretti was oozing glamour wearing this custom look styled with a Bvlgari Serpenti necklace.

There were more embellishments to be had, as actress Ariana DeBose stepped onto the red carpet wearing Michael Kors Collection Spring 2022 dress.

The styling prevented this look from being a little ho-hum, in lieu of the belt which would’ve perfected this look.
