Katy Perry, a UNICEF Goodwill ambassador, was one of the guest performers for the LuisaViaRoma hosted the fourth edition of the charity event LuisaViaRoma for UNICEF held in the magical Certosa San Giacomo of Capri, Italy on Saturday (July 31), alongside John Legend.
For the event, which raised $5 million for charity, Katy donned two looks.
To say that we’ve kinda struggled with Katy Perry’s recent looks would be an understatement.
I can’t speak for all, but for me, there has been an element of trying a little too hard to keep up with Gen Z.
I’m like, girl. Be Elsa. Let it go and embrace this new period of your life.
But she really landed on her feet when she wore this vintage Pierre Cardin 1978 Haute Couture gown from the archives of Shrimpton Couture.
Elegance is just oozing from this column gown which was accented with sculptural sleeves; a detail that gives a boost to her stature.
I love how the look plays with tradition and mixes eras proving that the designer was ahead of his time.
The look was styled with Buccellati jewels.
This custom Dolce & Gabbana dress may have been designed in Italy, but it certainly embodies a sense of Hollywood glamour.
Waves of undulating gold sequins cover her dress, but it is the white silk chiffon cape which ensured a heightened sense of drama for her performance.
As you know I can never resist the allure of a cape, and in this case I think it gave this look everything it was supposed to give.
