2021 Billboard Music Awards Red Carpet Menswear Roundup

The menswear from the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, which was hosted at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (May 23), was not to be overlooked.

Especially with Leslie Odom Jr. on the red carpet.

While I’m not sure why the actor is so keenly attracted to turtlenecks – especially for Spring – I’m impressed at how he continues shake up red carpet menswear trading in black tie for every colour in the rainbow.

On this occasion he opted for a yellow Prada corduroy coat which is the hero piece of this Fall 2021 total look, sans purple gloves.

The Weeknd’s love for colour has been traded for all black.

On this occasion he wore a Bottega Veneta look which feels like he’s still in mourning from being snubbed at the Grammys.

Host Nick Jonas rocked a green Fendi Fall 2021 look which was easily my favourite of the three.

Joe Jonas wore a full Prada which included a Prada Symbole necklace styled with Cartier jewels, while Kevin Jonas rocked a signature varsity inspired Amiri bomber jacket.

Joe and Kevin’s look scream collegiate, while Nick appears to have graduated.

DJ Khaled was feeling fruity in his Dolce & Gabbana polka dot print and pineapple Hawaiian-style shirt. He get extra points for coordinating his sneakers.

Takeoff, Quavo, and Offset from Migos kept it casual wearing looks from the Louis Vuitton Spring 2021 collection with their signature chains.

They are usually more coordinated than this style wise than this.  These looks are a little all over the place and ill-fitting for me.

Dressed in all black, my eyes fell immediate to Bad Bunny’s pointy Converse style sneakers.

Drake collected his awards wearing a custom ice grey Tom Ford three-piece O’Connor suit styled with the designer’s diamond & black onyx cufflinks, white gold collar bar, and Gianni cap toe leather boots.

We love new styles and bold colours, but classic suiting will never be replaced.

You can always rely on DaBaby to provide plenty of flare.

The rapper, who was also a two-time winner at this event, ensured that his Gucci Resort 2020 look was summery replacing the burgundy turtleneck for pale pink.
