Who Was Your Best Dressed At The 2018 Billboard Music Awards?

Menswear Red Carpet Roundup

The men have been showcasing their style credentials as much as the ladies this week.

Khalid: Taking a casual preppy approach, the New Artist Billboard Award winner wore Fendi to the ceremony on Sunday (May 20). The burnt orange colour typically has an autumnal feel but it suits his colouring and is kept fresh with the white trainers and hoodie.

Donald Glover: Further demonstrating his mastery of vintage-inspired looks, he was outfitted in Bottega Veneta Spring 2018 with Christian Louboutin ‘Dandelion’ loafers for the ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ London photocall on Friday (May 18), joining Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Emilia Clarke. The shoes cleverly echo the warm tone in the top.

Darren Criss: The former ‘Glee’ actor was suited and booted in Dior Homme at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20). The footwear adds some edge, but it’s all about the eye-popping effect of that blue collar.

2018 Billboard Music Awards Red Carpet Roundup

There was no shortage of drama at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Celebrities joined, Janet Jackson, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez.

Padma Lakshmi: The ‘Top Chef’ host glimmered in The Blonds. It had sensuality and shimmer, but it would have benefited from editing. Had the sequined fabric been on the bustier and the satin as the draped layer, it might have been more successful.

Hailey Baldwin: The model took the plunge in Alexandre Vauthier Fall 2018. The draping is splendid but the colour doesn’t do anything. The black version from the lookbook would have been preferable or a rich jewel tone. Not even the Jennifer Fisher jewels could enliven it.

Cyn: Cannes showcased a few similar looks to this Saint Laurent Fall 2018 dress, but with much stronger shoulders. The arm likely won’t prove as irksome as the heavy ruching on the skirt and the placement of the tie.

Taylor Swift In Atelier Versace – 2018 Billboard Music Awards

Taylor Swift was welcomed back into the spotlight with the Top Female Artist and Top Selling Album for ‘Reputation’ at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

She may have sung that the “old Taylor is dead”, but that doesn’t appear to have referred to her style, as she was serving up her signature sweet sassiness in Atelier Versace.

The Spring 2018 one-shoulder, rose coloured velvet gown embellished with delicate embroidery and feather details, was styled with Hueb morganite earrings and Casadei platforms.

You’ll either sit in two camps on this one.

Expecting something with a lot more edge to reflect her latest album, or delighted that the old Taylor isn’t dead after all.

Jennifer Lopez In Roberto Cavalli – 2018 Billboard Music Awards

Before Jennifer Lopez fired up the stage with her new collaboration, ‘Dinero,’ with DJ Khaled, the singer hit the red carpet for the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Since Ciara had the nude, sparkling gown covered at this event, JLo went in another direction.

The singer ensured an seductive entrance in her Roberto Cavalli Fall 2018 burgundy crocodile ensemble styled with AS29 diamond earrings plus matching accessories that included Casadei over-the-knee boots and a box clutch.

While the colours feel too Fall-like for the season, I’m totally captivated and seduced nonetheless.

Janet Jackson In Rami Kadi – 2018 Billboard Music Awards

Before collecting her ICON Award and electrifying the stage with a performance of some of her biggest hits including ‘If’ and ‘Nasty’, Janet Jackson hit the red carpet for the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

As someone who has been mildly obsessed with Janet Jackson’s style for as long as I can remember, I felt this custom Rami Kadi mint green, tulle skirt styled with a simple t-shirt was disconnected from the performer I know.

The belt – which I hate – attempted to toughen up the look, but I prefer Janet with more of an edge to her style. That is why I failed to buy into this Disney interpretation of her look.

Ciara In Julien Macdonald – 2018 Billboard Music Awards

Ciara was back on the red carpet for the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

There’s no deny the new mum looks stunning in this Julien Macdonald Spring 2018 barely-there shimmering dress, which she wore with the correct invisible underwear by Commando,.

But if you’ve been following our Cannes Film Festival coverage this may have come around too soon.

Sheer, nude gowns were very much overplayed at Cannes this year, but I’m not going to let that ruin my enjoyment of Ciara’s look which she styled with Le Silla strappy sandals and hair teased to the heavens.

Christina Aguilera In 16Arlington – 2018 Billboard Music Awards

Before Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato brought the house down with the show-stopping world television debut of Aguilera’s empowering new song ‘Fall In Line’, the singer graced the red carpet at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Serving up a change in direction, the singer wore a custom 16Arlington dress.

I really wanted to appreciate this pinstriped, off-the-shoulder look, but the whole thing felt too heavy and too overwhelming for Christina.

You can see her trying to hold her own in this piece, but unfortunately it just didn’t work.

Demi Lovato In Christian Dior – 2018 Billboard Music Awards

Demi Lovato graced the red carpet at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, which took place on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

While animal print and Roberto Cavalli will always go hand-in-hand in my mind, Demi’s dress actually hails from John Galliano’s Christian Dior Resort 2009 collection.

I love how this makes a sultry statement and was created to cause a stir with its fluid silhouette, floor-sweeping length and plunging neckline.

If I would change one thing, I would’ve lost the belt.

L’Dezen by Payal Shah diamond ring and Melinda Maria gold ‘Big Ass’ hoop earrings rounded out her look.

Dua Lipa In Alexandre Vauthier – 2018 Billboard Music Awards

Before delivered a visually entertaining performance of her single ‘New Rules,’ which featured a stage full of dancers and a giant flamingo, Dua Lipa took to the red carpet at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The singer was paying homage to the ’80s in her purple metallic lamé, bold shouldered look from Alexandre Vauthier’s Fall 2018 collection.

From the dazzle to the draping she would’ve given disco divas of days gone by dress envy.

While I love the Bvlgari High Jewelry Serpenti Sautoir statement necklace and matching earrings, the platform shoes felt a bit heavy for this look.

Bebe Rexha In Christian Siriano – 2018 Billboard Music Awards

At the Billboard Music Awards, which took place on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada, we expect to see sheer gown and lots of embellishments.

Well, Bebe Rexha went all the way left in her Christian Siriano Fall 2018 gown.

Oozing with plenty of signature Siriano drama, I love that she opted to wear something less predictable.

Did this look fan the flames of your desires, or are you to busy being concern at how hot Bebe would’ve been in this velvet turtleneck gown on a summer evening in Nevada?

Brian Atwood ‘Tribeca’ sandals completed her look.

Camila Cabello In Givenchy – 2018 Billboard Music Awards

Before performed her fan-favourite hit ‘Havana’, Camila Cabello posed on the red carpet at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards, which took place on Sunday (May 20) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

You’ve often had mixed reaction to Camila’s style, which has seen her very much at the experimental stages as she forges her solo career.

On this occasion she was rocking, or should I saw swinging out in Givenchy Fall 2018.

I love how her dual colour dress unites couture elements with a sculptural sensibilities while epitomizing the brand’s take on luxe fabrics and modern cuts.

For this young star this was fun to wear, with asymmetric fringing swishing with every movement.

Chopard jewels completed her look.
