The 2021 BRIT Awards took place in London on Tuesday (May 11) with Dua Lipa picking up two awards – Best British Album for ‘Future Nostalgia’ and Best British Female Solo Artist.
When it came to her red carpet look, it was an all-British affair.
Starting with her classic Vivienne Westwood dress which is instantly recognisable on account of the trademark corset silhouette.
The singer teamed the off-the-shoulder mini dress with suspender stockings, lace-up platforms and the signature three-row pearl bas relief choker necklace.
I’m not sure what was on the vision board when it came to the creative direction for this look, but I can imagine Amy Winehouse was on it, not only for the signature beehive hair, but the outfit also very much feels like something Amy would have worn.
You’ll either love this or loathe this.
We all know that Dua is very much a Versace/Mugler girl, so I can appreciate this look in this moment for being a fun outing celebrating the rebellious side of British fashion.
This second custom Vivienne Westwood also made me feel very nostalgic.
If the first look was an ode to Amy Winehouse, this second look was an ode to the Spice Girls.
We have Ginger Spice’s Union Jack, crop top which looks like it represents Scary Spice’s animal print, and for the rest I see Victoria Beckham’s Posh Spice.
