2021 Independent Spirit Awards Red Carpet Roundup
Here is a roundup of the rest of the actors, and actresses who attended the 2021 Independent Spirit Awards which were held virtually on Thursday (April 22).
Carey Mulligan, who was the winner for Best Female Lead in ‘Promising Young Woman,’ wore a custom Prada bottle green kid mohair suit.
My feelings about suiting at this event applies to this look also, but much like Viola’s look, it’s the details which keep me interested.
In this case it’s the contrasting blue trousers, and black Re-Nylon belt with saffiano details.
Dominique Fishback had a pinch me moment in her first custom three-piece look (if you count the opera gloves) which was created by Tony Ward.
The blue hue was heavenly, as is the cascading ruffle on the skirt.
Some might not love the gloves, but I think they add to the glamour of the look.
Nicco Annan was giving us colour upon colour wearing a Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2021 double breasted multi coloured suit which continues the brand patchwork story.
Not quite happy with the amount of colour served up by the suit, he styled the look with yellow Dolce & Gabbana daymaster sneakers, and colourful makeup.
Going from patchwork colours to none at all, Talia Ryder kept things super simple in this Saint Laurent blazer accented with a flower brooch.
You’ll be happy to learn that velvet shorts were also paired with this look.
Prada dress winners, and Paapa Essiedu was a winner both for Best Ensemble Cast in a New Scripted Series in ‘I May Destroy You’, and in the style stakes wearing this Prada single-breasted navy suit.
What makes this look for me is the cyclamen pink cashmere sweater and the Prada loafers.
Patchwork for Spring is a thing, as Annie Murphy wore this Dior Pre-Fall 2021 silk georgette dress with a ‘Pop heart’ print which received a neon injection via her pointy pumps.
Amit Rahav was looking very stylish in his Dior Men suit which featured the embroidered Kenny Scharf motif and sneakers….but I love the look even more without the blazer.
Tons and tons of tulle was provided by Australian designer Steven Khalil, who created this cloud-like gown for Bianca Lawson.
I was delighted to see Shira Haas dress for the season and spirit of the event in this strapless Miu Miu floral embroidered dress.
