We all know that Laverne Cox has many talents, and two of them combined during the ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards on Thursday (April 22) – hosting and serving looks.
The first was Lavie by Claude Kameni, who also designed Viola Davis’ Golden Globe Awards gown.
Much like Viola’s dress, the designer opted for a striking mermaid silhouette using the signature African prints she is known for.
I was really happy to see the actress give us something that didn’t feel like an ode to Beyonce for a refreshing change.
Next up was a dress from Samantha Black’s brand, Sammy B, who has come a long way since season 11 of Project Runway.
As swirl bold print made this look visually arresting, along with the fit, which enhanced her beautiful hourglass figure.
Laverne’s third look should be instantly recognisable, as we saw this Balmain Resort 2021 pastel hued blazer on Darren Criss last week.
