Regina King is a veteran of the film and television world, and with the help of her stylists Wayman Bannerman and Micah McDonald, her style is revered as much as her talent.
I always look forward to her head-turning looks, so I’ve rounded up three from her promo tour for her directorial debut film, ‘One Night In Miami,’ which is likely to gain her a place on the red carpet during awards season.
As you know, grey isn’t my favourite colour, but there is an ethereal elegance imbued in this Christian Dior Spring 2021 dress that I find so enchanting.
The bohemian style of dress we saw on the runway, is improved and finessed in such a way that it became a dress worthy for a queen like Regina.
I can’t gush enough about this look. I’m so glad she didn’t opt to line the runway version, as it pales in comparison.
ALEVí Milano ‘Piper’ PVC pumps completed her look.
Petrol blue has always been a colour I adore. Mostly thanks to Padama Lakshmi in her Cushnie et Ochs dress which I’m still obsessing over 7 years later.
This Aliétte look caught my eye on account of the colour first, then the luxe fabric.
But I can’t help but feel that something was missing here.
My first feeling was that this would look better with a belt.
Then I toyed with the idea that this may have been better as a jumpsuit.
Burnt orange is such a powerful colour on Regina.
In this Oscar de la Renta blazer and trousers combo Regina really looks like a boss lady, which she is.
At the start of this promo tour I was worried that suiting was going to be her go-to for the duration, but this is the type/style of suit I can 100% get behind.
The moire fabric enhances the impact along with the cut and the colour.
