Jennifer Lopez’s heartfelt performance of Woody Guthrie’s ‘This Land is Your Land’ during Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration on Wednesday (January 20) in Washington, D.C. followed Lady Gaga opened the event singing the US national anthem.
During her performance, the singer delivered a phrase in Spanish, which lead to those of us who did not speak Spanish to head to social media in the hope that someone had shared a translation.
In Spanish she said ‘One nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.’
Judging by this third look, it’s clear that long coats were a theme of Jennifer Lopez trip to the nation’s capital, following her Alberta Ferretti and Chanel looks from yesterday.
Today she wore Chanel once again, opting for all white (as Lady Gaga did yesterday) selecting a look which had a lot of detail – including sequin wide leg trousers and a ruffled silk blouse from the Fall 2019 collection, which was mostly covered by her ecru and white fantasy tweed coat from the Fall 2020 collection.
Some might feel that this was safe by JLo’s standards, but she was hardly going to come out to perform at this event in her signature rhinestone bodysuit.
Like Lady Gaga, I love how Jennifer didn’t let her alter ego take over for thie occasion.
Jimmy Choo ‘Max’ pumps, and Chanel earrings, bracelets and belts completed her look.
