For Joe Biden’s presidential inauguration on Wednesday (January 20) in Washington D.C., Dr. Jill Biden’s First Lady M.O. was much the same as her arrival into the capital; matchy.
Dr. Biden’s custom outfit, which consisted of a dress and matching coat crafted from gorgeous ocean blue, wool tweed with a matching silk face mask, was a custom creation from New York based fashion brand Markarian.
As with a lot of looks from the past two days, this one had a significant meaning.
The colour blue, it was chosen to signify “trust, confidence, and stability,” but we also can’t overlook the fact that blue also signifies the Democratic party regaining power.

I loved all the intricate detailing like the Swarovski pearls and crystals in a delicate floral pattern, and the Swarovski crystals enriched tweed fabric, but I wasn’t a huge fan of the chiffon bodice if I’m being totally honest.
But that takes nothing away from this being a very appropriate look for the occasion.
Jimmy Choo ‘Romy’ pumps, matching leather gloves and a Tyler Ellis clutch.
President Joe Biden was sworn in wearing a total look from Ralph Lauren Collection.
Love that the couple both wore American brands for the occasion.
Markarian designer Alexandra O’Neill said, “I’m incredibly humbled to be a small part of such a historic moment.”
