Lady Gaga Wore Custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture Singing At Joe Biden’s Inauguration

The first time I heard Whitney Houston sing the national anthem at the 1991 Super Bowl I got goosebumps despite not being an American.

There is something very powerful in the words, and the passion in which is sung that gets me feeling quite emotional every time I have heard it since.

That was very much the feeling when seeing Lady Gaga singing a theatrical version of the Star Spangled Banner this afternoon (January 20), for the Presidential Inauguration in Washington, DC.

Her theatrical rendition needed an larger than life Haute Couture gown.

So up stepped Daniel Roseberry, who created this custom Schiaparelli Haute Couture navy and red gown, which felt military inspired, yet regal in this moment.

The gold dove brooch, follows on from her message yesterday, in which she prayed for peace and unity for a country torn by political division.

I know I have often said I love Lady Gaga as Lady Gaga, you know the larger than life character, but this more mellow look and performance I found very charming.

Daniel Roseberry  said, “As an American living in Paris, this ensemble is a love letter to the country I miss so dearly and to a performer whose artistry I have so long admired.  Maison Schiaparelli is honored to have this chance to dress the iconic Lady Gaga on this historic Inauguration Day. God Bless Lady Gaga and God Bless America.”
