Valentino Re-Signify Part One Shanghai, is a retrieval of signs, colours and codes.
At this exhibition, which took place today (December 18), iconic themes of the Maison are drawn from the archives, and reinterpreted under a contemporary context for a new, immersive experience, taking place in Shanghai’s Power Station of Art.
It looks like most of the attendees got the “colour” memo.
Liu Wen: The model was beaming wearing a Valentino Resort 2021 pajama-style look which had not only a selection of bold prints, but feathers to content with.
I could’ve done without the feathers, but the simple styling manages to navigate me down the ‘like’ path.
Shu Qi: The actress opted for a look from the same collection which had an even busier print with embellishments.
Kudos to Shu Qi for daring to work such a bold look, but there is too much going on, even for me.
I’m not sure what could’ve saved this look, but a ballerina bun, and leaving that red clutch at home would have helped.

Qin Lan: In lieu of any embellishments, this bold print from the Valentino Resort 2021 collection was a lot easier to digest.
Tang Yan: It looks like Tang Yan didn’t get the memo, or took the easy way out wearing a LBD from the Valentino Spring 2021 collection.
