Front Row @ Chanel Fall 2018 Haute Couture

Chanel presented their Fall 2018 Haute Couture show in Paris on Tuesday (July 3), with a host of stars, including their most loyal ambassadors in the front row.

Penelope Cruz: The Spanish actress was portraying a Parisian princess in her Chanel tweed dress and beret comb. I adored this look from head-to-toe as it was such and fun departure for Penelope.

Liu Wen: The model was appropriately dressed for the heatwave in this easy, breezy chiffon cool-blue Chanel dress. She continues to be my best dressed model.

Ellie Bamber: As one of Chanel’s official ambassadors, I wasn’t surprised to see the British actress in the front row. Oozing the same charm we got from Penelope’s look – thanks to the beret – my favourite part of this look was her Lifebuoy Chanel bag.

‘Ocean’s 8’ World Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

There were a host of models supporting the all-female cast consisting of Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Awkwafina, Sarah Paulson, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Helena Bonham Carter and Rihanna, for the world premiere of ‘Ocean’s 8’ in New York City last night (June 5).

Liu Wen: As always the model looked effortless and chic in Jason Wu Fall 2018. I always admire her style as she marches to the beat of her own drum. I covet this from head-to-toe.

Adriana Lima: In this Roberto Cavalli Couture gown, it’s sheer, beaded, has a high slit and deep plunge. If you were to design a dress for Adriana, this would be it. Predictable, but fits to a ‘T’. But if you to ask me who was sexier, her or Liu Wen, I would say Liu Wen. Sophia Webster ‘Nicole’ sandals and Chopard jewelry completed her look.

Gigi Hadid: The model went from a riot of colour at the CFDA Awards, to just black in Vera Wang Collection Spring 2018. I love the structured bustier with trapunto detailing, but the rest doesn’t grab my attention.

‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival Premiere Red Carpet Roundup

The fashion was strong at the ‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’ Cannes Film Festival premiere on Tuesday evening (May 15). Attendees joined Emilia Clarke, Phoebe Waller-BridgeThandie Newton and Elizabeth Debicki.

Liu Wen: Never one to go down the sheer, bedazzled route, she shone in Bottega Veneta Fall 2018. She borrowed styling ideas from the runway, but added a Bottega Veneta clutch. The rich marigold colour had such a sumptuous air. I’m curious to see how the ankle boots will go down.

Toni Garrn: The German model showed some leg in Roberto Cavalli Couture. It certainly embodied the designer’s sensual aesthetic. It also showed a level of craftsmanship for the way the lining perfectly matched her skin tone with no distracting bra cups or panty lines.

Doutzen Kroes: The Dutch beauty traded in the gown for strong-shouldered Tom Ford separates paired with pink Tom Ford pumps. Some ensembles with exaggerated shoulders haven’t gone down well, but the proportions of this look shouldn’t offend.

Michael Kors Collection @ 2018 Met Gala

The Michael Kors Collection was another popular label seen at the 2018 Met Gala on Monday (May 7) in New York City, with these six lovelies wearing the designer.

Naomi Watts: While this gold tapestry, shoulder-cape gown was one of the simpler, thematic looks of the night, I still thought it was a plenty righteous if somewhat forgettable look for the night.

Liu Wen: Something about the model’s strapless gown was giving me more of an Asian-influenced than angelic-inspired mood. It could have been the red and gold floral combination.

Front Row @ Chanel Fall 2018

Chanel darlings would not be missed on the front row, where the house’s designer Karl Lagerfeld envisioned an autumnal, leaf-dotted setting for the Fall 2018 presentation during Paris Fashion Week on Tuesday (March 6).

Keira Knightley: This colourful tweed dress would have been far more successful with a bit more waist-defining shape to defeat the tent-like notions. It was also in desperate need of a sleeker hairstyle.

Liu Wen: The model owned this chunky sweater and wide-leg trousers combo despite the exaggerated proportions of both the top and bottom pieces.

Lily Allen: Speaking of oversized silhouettes, these embellished pants were the main attraction of Lily’s look, so I do like how she kept it simple up top with the black T-shirt. Her classic handbag and the hair ribbon tied around her pastel-pink updo added a sweet girlishness to the look.

2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show After Show Party

The 2017 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show After Party took place on Monday (November 20) in Shanghai, China, with a wide ranging mix of styles.

I decided to split them into categories this year staring with: My Favourites.

Cindy Bruna: This Brandon Maxwell Spring 2017 suit originally stormed the runway with a blouse, but Cindy made the look her own by opting to go without.  The excessive boobage might turn off some, but I’m more intrigued by the impeccable tailoring.

Maria Borges: I’m a huge fan of Maria’s style, but I was blown away when she opted to wear this Tiffany Amber gown which proudly showcased her African roots. The dress, the belt and head wrap are gorgeous, but it’s the ‘going against the grain’ statement which I find most endearing.

Jourdana Phillips: You can’t get much chicer than a cream tuxedo dress styled with gold Giuseppe Zanotti rose-gold sandals.
