Maren Morris was one of the big winners at the 2020 CMA Awards, which were presented at the Music City Center in Nashville on Thursday (November 11).
The singer picked up three awards – Female Vocalist of the Year, and for her song ‘The Bones,’ she collected the Single of the Year, and Song of the Year, (which I would’ve thought was the same thing, but there you have it).
Maren donned two looks for this event.
First up was a Dolce & Gabbana Fall 2020 black long sleeves lace gown combined with black undergarments which she styled with Dolce & Gabbana charm drop earrings, a Dolce & Gabbana ‘Devotion’ heart-shaped ring and super stacked platform heels.
You first question might be why? But I would say why not?
The singer, who just recently gave birth to her first child, is obviously basking in this new phase of womanhood, and isn’t afraid to showcase that to the world.
We love music events for drama and risqué moments, and there’s plenty of drama here.
Yes, this does feel very much like a look that should’ve been reserved for the boudoir, and maybe she could/should have tied the robe closer together like we saw on the runway, but honestly, what stands out most for me here is the confidence, and I love to see that.
For Maren’s performance she wore a Dundas Pre-Fall 2020 platinum embellished tulle dress featuring an Art Deco motif which kept the glamour theme running throughout the night for the three-time winner.
Some might feel that perhaps the Dolce & Gabbana look would’ve worked better as a performance piece, but who doesn’t love a stage look that sparkles under the lights?
APM MONACO jewels completed her look.
