Bruna Marquezine presented MTV Miaw 2020 alongside Manu Gavassi on Thursday (September 24), on MTV Brazil, which is also known as the MTV Millennial Awards, that celebrates music, TV, and social media stars.
Lady Gaga virtually collected two awards. The first was Global Hit for her Ariana Grande-assisted track ‘Rain on Me’ and Best International Feature for ‘Sour Candy’ with BlackPink.
In lieu of all those big name stars, the spotlight fell on Bruna; which judging by her looks, she would’ve outshone anyone as she didn’t hold back with her choices.
My favourite was this Richard Quinn Fall 2020 look which feels like a hybrid of M.I.A.’s British Vogue and Tiffany & Co. Fashion and Film Party dress and Naomi Scott’s ‘Charlie’s Angels’ London Premiere look.
I love how Bruna amplifies several eras here.
Richard Quinn’s playful approach to design when it comes to this floral mini dress which starts with embellished yoke and dramatically puffed sleeves screams ’80s, before ending with the ’90s patent leather leggings.
The rockabily hair gives this look a sublte nod to the ’50s as well.
Next up is a beautifully detailed Giambattista Valli Fall 2020 feathered creation which displays the inspiration and creativity of the designer.
I know the sheerness will put some off, but I love how this dress combines modern femininity with a delicate style, enhanced by the use of feathers.
A leather beret tops off this Parisian fantasy.
She presented yet more drama in this Ashi Studio Couture dress which is a creation that is the quintessence of Lebanese fashion; authentic, bold and elegant.
I never thought I would see the day when I thought a sequinned, cut-out, slit to the hip Alexandre Vauthier Spring 2020 Haute Couture dress would feel tame when compared to the other dramatic looks.
But that doesn’t stop this look from feeling any less breath-taking.
Boy does she know how to sell a dress.
