L’Avenue at Saks Celebrates First Anniversary to Kick-Off NYFW with Billy Porter

On Tuesday (February 4),  L’Avenue at Saks and Le Chalet invited a host of celebrities to their one year anniversary birthday celebration, which also served as the unofficial kick-off for New York Fashion Week, which officially starts today.

The star studded event brought the glitz and glam from multi-hyphenate Grammy, Tony and Emmy Award winning style icon Billy Porter (‘Pose,’ ‘American Horror Story,’ ‘Kinky Boots’), who also served as the co-host of the evening.

Billy Porter:  The actor did not disappoint in head to toe black leather from the Todd Hessert X Unawares Fall 2020 collection.

Yes.  Those Coach platform boots are back, but they work better here in black, they did in white with the Hogan McLaughlin dress he wore to the 2020 Critics’ Choice Awards.

The look was accessorized with a bag that read “F**K U PAY ME”.  A sentiment a lot people can relate to when they are asked to work for free.

 Gwendoline Christie Dior Men

Gwendoline Christie:  The ‘Game of Thrones’ British actress is having quite a moment with the Dior Men Fall 2020 collection.  Admittedly, I failed to warm to her previous Dior Men look

This formal suiting with an overcoat feels so luxe with the contrast embroidery and pearl accented ‘Dior’ pin, and it has that grandiose feel that I expect, and love, from a Gwendoline Christie look.

Winnie Harlow Vivienne Westwood

Winnie Harlow:  The model was looking as statuesque as ever wearing black and white dress from Vivienne Westwood featuring a screaming visage which hails from the designers Fall 2017 menswear collection.

I don’t mind the heavy boots here, as this is the kind of styling I would expect for the brand known for its rebellious nature.

Natasha Lyonne:  The ‘Russian Doll’ actress donned a chic, lavender pantsuit that paired perfectly with the floral accents of the night.  I’m in love with the pleated draped trousers.  It adds such a cool and unique twist to this masculine, summery suit.
