Billy Porter In Hogan McLaughlin – 2020 Critics’ Choice Awards

Billy Porter returned to the red carpet for the 2020 Critics’ Choice Awards which took place at the Barker Hangar on Sunday (January 12) in Santa Monica, California.

Since the ‘Pose’ actor blew us away on the red carpet at the 2019 Oscars this has been a glorious ride.

But at this point. I want to get off.

I’m probably going to receive some backlash, but I do not like this two-tone green Hogan McLaughlin jumpsuit.

The bodice feels like a redux of Jennifer Lawrence’s 2018 BAFTA gown, and most importantly, this is starting to feel a bit too gimmicky for me, and less about presenting his usually noteworthy style as this isn’t a patch on the class and elegance of his Christian Siriano gown. Not even close.

White Coach 1941 turbo boots, which are now his preferred choice of footwear, a choker and cuffs completed his look.

I couldn’t agree more Catherine. I dislike the green and the preen.

    Neither do I.

It appears as if he’s after for attention. It’s not always a change. I personally like when girls dress like boys than boys dress like girls.

How tall is Billy? Because I want to ban his boots. This look has Rosie Assoulin vibes and I just wish she’d do something custom for him, or he’d take her runway designs and make it his own.

I’ve like all his previous looks. This one not so much. You are right, it feels more gimmicky than a style choice here.

This is terrible. From the press on nails (YUCK) to the temporary tattoos to the boots this is awful.

Well, ya’ll did say you wanted him to change it up a bit lol. I hate the jumpsuit, don’t think I’d like it on anyone. The added shenanigans doesn’t make it better, makes it worse. You’re better than this, Billy.

Enough of this gimmick. It’s gotten old.

I dont mind the jumpsuit actually. All those butterflies though look like some contagious skin disease. The boots are awful.

    WDOTY list.

I mean it’s at the point now, where it’s all so predictable. It’s just a question of of badly and cheesily presented and styled it’s going to be.
    Any questions Ruth?

I agree with you…I don’t like this at all. Just NO!

  13. Guest January 13, 2020 at 10:52 am #

There must be other creative ways to set the trend of men looking stylish in women’s clothes. This is comical.

It’s offensive to stylists and the amount of work, planning and thought that goes into dressing women. Throwing on a dreadful piece of clothing, tacky white boots and showing up thinking you should win a prize? Enough already.

I don’t hate the jumpsuit, just all the rubbish styling that screams desperate for attention.

  15. Guest January 13, 2020 at 9:33 am #

    TOTAL MESS! Period.

  16. Guest January 13, 2020 at 9:11 am #

I’m not feeling this, it doesn’t suit him.

  17. Guest January 13, 2020 at 8:58 am #

I just don’t get this look. Nothing is working together.

  18. Catarina_M January 13, 2020 at 8:55 am #

This I don’t like. I don’t feel like is elegant or provocative enough, as his previous looks. It looks like “a guy in a dress” and that’s not Billy Porter’s M.O..

      Thank you.

This! He can do so much better!
