Francesca Hayward Wore Miu Miu To The ‘Cats’ Tokyo Premiere

The Japan premiere of ‘Cats’ took place at Roppongi Hills on Tuesday (January 22) in Tokyo.
Without Taylor Swift or Jennifer Hudson, Kenyan-born Francesca Hayward, the ballet dancer who plays Victoria the White Cat, stepped into the spotlight at this premiere.
She may have a few speaking lines in the musical, but her main role, is a dance role, which is fitting given her background.
The dancer hit the red carpet wearing a Miu Miu navy satin gown embellished with a large white bow embroidered with brands signature crystal detail.
I would like to say in theory I like this, but I have a few nit-picks which all center on the bodice.
My main bug-bear is that thin black strap. Yes, it makes sense from a practical point of view to help hold the dress up, but I wish this was an illusion strap, because it doesn’t complement the rest of the dress.
Secondly, I don’t find the cut of the white bodice a little flattering, which pulls down the main feature of this look which is the bow.Â
Jessica McCormack jewels completed her look.
What are you thoughts on this look? Are you as conflicted as I am?
