Charlize Theron Was The Golden Girl For Her Africa Outreach Project

Charlize Theron Was The Golden Girl For Her Africa Outreach Project

Charlize Theron hosted a fundraising event for The Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project on Tuesday (November 1) held at the Africa Center in New York City.

The event, presented by Dior, featured a special musical performance from classic R&B group Boyz II Men.

The actress founded the project in 2007. CTAOP focuses on African youth by investing in organizations that prioritize and advance their health, education and community support. The program additionally focuses on youth’s susceptibility to HIV and AIDS, a prominent barrier for youth in Africa. In the past year, CTAOP’s program partners have reached 55,000 African youths and more than two million have engaged in the organization’s digital magazine.

Charlize began the program to bring awareness to the youth in her home country. CTAOP’s geographical scope extends to sub-Saharan Africa with the primary focus being South Africa.

I have been ranking my brain to figure out who Charlize reminds me of with this new hairstyle, and it’s Princess Charlene of Monaco.  Not U.S. soccer star Meghan Rapinoe, who Charlize credits as inspiration for her short style.

This would’ve been an awesome event to spotlight up-and-coming African designers, but Charlize wore a custom Christian Dior Fall 2019 Haute Couture design.

It may be hard to see the inspiration from the runway, but if you look closely at the bodice and fringe detailing, you’ll catch the drift.

I do like this look; preferring it over the runway outing which would’ve been too busy for this event.

I love that she’s back to looking her statuesque self.  But am I calling for this to be in the BDOTW poll?  Probably not.

Beauty-wise, she is once again flawless. with her favourite Ana Khouri  jewels, gold sandals and what is likely to be a Breitling, or Dior watch.
