Acne Studios Musubi Bags

Acne Studios just knows how to do cool. But not in a flash-in-the-pan way.

The label’s co-founder and creative director, Jonny Johansson, turned his eye to bags.

The understated yet distinctive Musubi bags are not figments of your imagination, but the real fashion deal and already firm favorites with fashion polymaths such as Ada Kokosar and Amanda Shadforth.

Just how Johansson hits the sweet spot between timely and timeless every time we’ll never know, but we’ll always be grateful.

Haim In Acne Studios – NME Awards

Haim can be consistently counted on to present coordinated looks without it coming across as ridiculous or costume-y. Their fashion credentials were showed off at the NME Awards on Wednesday (February 14) in London, England.

The sisters were all clad in Acne Studios ensembles from the Spring 2018 collection.

Este Haim: There was plenty of textural interest at play with her Acne Studios ‘Raehmon’ denim blue shirt and dress. Given the dramatic movement on the runway, I would have loved to see her pose to show off the fringing in motion, as opposed to it pooling on the floor, as it literally drags down the look.

Danielle Haim: Another one in clashing prints, she wore an Acne Studios jacket, embroidered waistcoat and embroidered trousers. The classic nature of the striped waistcoat and trousers was given a country feel courtesy of the oversized printed jacket. Oversized or not, I’m sure the long sleeves on the jacket will have some crying out for a tailor.

Alana Haim: Finally, the youngest sister switched things up with the shortest and brightest look. She donned an Acne Studios eel jacket, dress and Acne Studios ‘Helenah beads’ shoes. It’s a masterful mix of colour, fabrics and textures. And it all comes together with the retro, feminine feel.

Electric orange eyeshadow encircling all of their eyes tied the three ensembles together.

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden In Rodebjer, Acne & Stylein – The Duke And Duchess Of Cambridge Visit To Sweden

Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden again accompanied the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on Day 2, Tuesday (January 31) of their visit to Sweden, continuing to pay homage to her country by wearing Swedish labels.

Karolinska Institute Visit: Offering an intriguing colour combination, she wore a salmon-pink Acne coat over her light-teal Rodebjer trouser suit. A Stella McCartney chain-embellished clutch completed the conservative look with something of an edgier finish—and the only non-Swedish element.

Inside: The trouser suit from Rodebjer was fully glimpsed once she was inside. The colour was beautiful on her, with the frill of the blouse providing a feminine counterpoint to the tailoring.

Fotografiska Gallery: The Stella clutch was one thing. But, Crown Princess Victoria’s edgier side fully came out to play in this Swedish designer look, featuring Stylein Fall 2018 separates paired with Rebecca Björnsdotter ankle boots. I like how she merged two runway looks to make this ensemble her own—in quite sassy fashion.

Alice Englert In Acne Studios – ‘Top of the Lake: China Girl’ Sydney Premiere

Alice Englert joined Nicole Kidman at the ‘Top of the Lake: China Girl’ Sydney premiere in Australia on Tuesday (August 1).

Swimming through an Acne Studios draped, floral dress, the starlet seemed to be inspired by a long nightgown for her night out on the red carpet.

Her styling didn’t help the cause either, beginning with the fact that her hair and seemingly non-existent makeup were a mere afterthought at best.

Nor do the white pumps win any points from me.

She has so much potential; I just wish she would put it to work.

Rita Ora In Acne Studios & Roberto Cavalli – Out In Manchester

Rita Ora In Acne Studios & Roberto Cavalli - Out In Manchester

British pop singer Rita Ora is currently in Manchester, England where she is appearing as a guest judge on ‘The Voice’.

Lowry Hotel: The singer was spotted arriving at the Lowry Hotel on Monday (September 29)wearing an Acne Resort 2015 bottle-green mesh top and leather pants styled with printed Chanel Fall 2014 sneakers. This sporty ode to the 80s was of course featuring a glossy red lip.

Dinner: And the red lip was still very firmly in place when she headed to dinner with ‘The Voice’ judges that same evening. The singer wore an all-black Roberto Cavalli look featuring gold grommet detailing for a tougher edge, which she styled with black cut-out ankle boots and a Versace Signature ‘Lock’ bag.

There is something very JLo about the second look; the first is much more in keeping with her own style.
