Michelle Dockery Promotes ‘Downton Abbey’ During Rome Film Festival With Two Looks

Michelle Dockery In Valentino 'Downton Abbey' During Rome Film Festival Premiere

As a die-hard ‘Downton Abbey’ fan, I have been a nervous about watching the film, but after seeing Michelle Dockery during the 2019 Rome Film Festival on Saturday (October 19) in Italy, I think it’s time go see it before the run ends.

‘Downton Abbey’ Rome Film Festival Premiere:  The British actress looked breath-taking wearing a Valentino Spring 2020 sheer embroidered gown,

This isn’t the type of gown you can get away with just a pair of granny panties, so you’ll be happy to see that the gown styled with a lining.

What instantly caught my attention was the sleeves.

At first I thought Michelle styled her look with the most extravagant gold cuffs, but the close up reveals an elaborate detail at the end of the sheer sleeves.

Bvlgari High Jewelry rings completed her look.

‘Downton Abbey’ Rome Film Festival Photocall:  Acne Studios’ utilises masculine-inspired tailoring in this brown suit, while the checked design gives the look an achingly classic feel.

I’m glad to see that the boxy silhouette, framed with large peaked lapels, doesn’t overwhelm Michelle’s frame, and how she kept the styling effortless with black pumps and a matching t-shirt.

The trousers are cropped, so I was surprised that they reach ankle length on the 5ft 8in beauty.

Hmm. Im in the minority I guess. I dont like either.
I esp dislike the dress. its a messy pattern, and I feel the dress ages her. I find it very unflattering for her.
The makeup and earrings are perfect though. And kudos to her stylist for lining it!
the suit I find a rather ugly brown, and the pants an odd length.

That Valentino dress is BDOTY worthy for me.

Oh wow I really love both looks!!! The first is going onto my BDOTY list though (yet another contender from October). I am so glad that she lined it and the gold cuffs are awesome

Love these especially the Valentino, it is so gorgeous. An early BDOTW contender!

I am obsessed with that suit, so good, and the gown looks beautiful on her but to nitpick I wish the cuffs had been more tapered.

I love that second look, although I’m partials to suits, so it’s not particularly surprising to me that I love it. The first look is dreamy as well!

I will never get accustomed to seeing her in ‘modern’ clothes, lol. She will always be my ‘Lady Mary’ ❤️

The detail of her Valentino dress is to die for, is one of the most interesting dresses I’ve seen in a while. I only wish her hair was better styled and the lining was longer.

i don’t think the first dress flatters her chest. It needed more “curves” or at least some push up bra. I think I would have love it more on someone like Monica Bellucci. That being said, the dress is stunning and unique and she looks fantastic in look 2.

Love both looks and so glad she lined the Valentino. Designers need to stop with the sheers
