Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and Prince Daniel of Sweden attended the 2019 Polar Music Prize award ceremony this evening (June 11) in Stockholm, Sweden.
The Princess has access to every Haute Couture designer in the world, but she opted to spotlight an up-and-coming talent from her hometown when she donned this Selam Fessahaye Spring 2019 pink tulle gown.
I have a feeling it may not go down too well with the majority, as some might say that this pink frock is to twee for a mature woman, but don’t we always label dresses like this a princess gowns?
So who better to wear it than a real-life princess? Right?
I’m glad that design doesn’t steer too far from the designers vision which is from her debut collection, but the waistband was needed to rein this look in.
We’ve seen in the past that some designer change their whole aesthetic for that royal seal of approval. Christopher Kane for Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge immediately springs to mind.
If you loathe this, you must give the Princess kudos for supporting local talent.
